When I first got yousician, I thought it was an amazing app and I learned how to play real fast, well in my perspective at least. Anyhow, I like being on call with people and I used to stay on call while playing in yousician, but one day an update stopped that. Basically now, anytime I try selecting a song or tuning my guitar, it says “please select an audio output” so I pick one of the following, after that it tells me that it failed. I’ve tried most of everything I could. In the end, im not able to use the app when on call, I have to end the call to play and I don’t like that. Other than this, everything is fair and amazing. I just can’t use the app as much and no longer plan on buying premium, why would I if I don’t use the app often. If I find a way around this, if it fixes, or something that allows me to use the app while on a call, I’ll gladly change my review. (Edit after response) -already contacted support after putting up this review, sadly enough after they looked into it, they said the mic won’t work with the call on, and they recommended me use the app after I’m off call... I wouldn’t be here if it was just as simple as me ending the call.
  • Ok but limited

I have a few issues with this app. The idea itself is successful but there’s always problems. I’m learning ukulele, for starters the information videos at the beginning of each lesson NEVER work for me so I’m completely clueless the entire lesson and fake my way through it. I also don’t understand the shortness of the lesson time, it usually lasts 20-25 minutes for me, it is never consistent, it would be much nicer if it lasted 30 minutes even every time. It also ends without warning so I could be in the middle of a lesson and it just stops. It would be more continent if it either warned you or let you finish a lesson so you don’t have to review it when you come back. However this app does have a built in tuner which is very nice, and it works great. I still recommend buying an actual tuner. I also noticed hat half the time if I miss a note and I know I missed it counts it correct, but I want to learn and progress and this app does not always give accurate data back to you. Overall, if you’re willing to spend the $120-$180 a year, this app might be for you. But I need the free version to convince me before I even look into premium

The free version is pretty good but now you cant look up songs other than Yousician’s and also you cant practice while you’re waiting for your next lesson so that a 👎
  • Skill Level

When it asked me where I would rate myself on a scale of musical ability I should have gone higher (even though this was a new instrument to me) because I was throw into an absolute beginner pool. Had to skip lots of content to get to the correct level. That app works well at teaching you stuff however the calibration, at least for me, is very off and causes me to hit "wrong" notes. Still a decent app though.
