  • Great concept- content needs work

    By BriannaBanana715
I am very fond of this app. I’m actually using it to learn ukulele, piano, and guitar. Occasionally, it teaches me very useful things about all of the instruments. I have one issue with it, though. I am truly noticing a pattern, especially as I get deeper into the lessons. I’m noticing a LOT of repetition. All I want is to learn new things, yet I spend most, if not all of the lesson replaying songs I’ve already played. I did my ukulele lesson today and there literally was NO new content. It just forced me to replay old songs. The constant repetition is getting very annoying. I just wish the app would be briefer and more productive
  • This app has helped me tremendously on Guitar!

1st off... Stop trying to get stuff for free! You need to upgrade! If you are serious about learning, 120 bucks a year is pennies on the dollar for what you would pay for personal lessons. And you will advance much faster. 2nd... understand how this program works. When you reach a new level, Watch the tutorial video, play the tutorial, then practice the songs (over and over) until you feel that you are ready, then preform them. There are 3 to 4 songs per level. When you get gold stars on all the parts of all the songs of that level, you can move on to the next level. It’s that easy! Thanks. PS, my only complaint so far is that when playing faster songs sometimes Yousician misses (doesn’t hear) the chord I strummed which can be frustrating when trying to go for gold!
  • Tuning Lessons

    By person19383
So I picked guitar as my lesson and I knew absolutely nothing about it, so I started off with a tuning lesson. It was a new guitar and I thought “Let’s do a checkup to see if it’s good”. It started off with a tuning lesson. When I turned my microphone on and plucked a string, it said it was “too low” so I tuned it a bit. Then I kept tuning it until it said “perfect”. I told my dad thinking that he would be happy, boy was I wrong. My mom and dad were flipping yelling at me! Saying how I wasn't supposed to tune that guitar it was already “perfect”. If it was perfect then why did it say my tuning was “too low”. All I’m wondering is if this is false! Now I can’t play the guitar anymore and I really like it but it’s been taken away from me.

Whether you want a lot of structure or just everything you need to learn laid out Yousician is perfect
  • Amazing

I used to hate learning piano because it felt like it was dragging on and I was till having to work on skills I had already perfected and I wasn’t advancing as fast as I wanted with Yousician I can learn at my own pace and it gives you enough time to practice old skills while constantly introducing new skills
  • It’s decent at what it tries to do.

I use this app fairly regularly and usually it’s good at what it does. But recently it has gone down hill. I am a beginner at guitar, and sure I learned some chords (courtesy of another account) and then I switch back to learn some more basics. The difficulty progression on some the exorcises it ridiculous. I could be doing something fairly easy, and then it throws a bunch of notes in my face and I can’t keep up, and sometimes I could play a note clearly and it wouldn’t pick up which makes it all the more frustrating. I’d like it if this was fixed somehow because it doesn’t make me want to use the app as much.
  • Great App

  • Great app!!!

I have only just started using Yousician a few days ago and I am 10x better than when I first started. I started off not being able to play any notes correctly except for Am7(open strings). I have no complaints that I can think of. This is a great app and I would recommend it to anybody trying to learn any of the instruments that they provide teachings for. 10/10
  • Amazing and very helpful but....

    By a piano player!!
I want to learn the piano and this app has taken me a long way but I think it stinks how I have to pay!! I’m just a kid so I have a lot and free time and I use it on this app and when it asks how much time I have to learn, I would like to click 30 mins but to do that, I need to pay!! It’s not that much but I can’t afford it!! I though I finally found the perfect app!! It is a great app it listens to you play, you can set goals, it gives you sheet music, but I can’t afford premium!!!
  • I absolutely love this app!

    By 8Pat7
I have the subscription for the guitar. When I first downloaded the app it had some glitches but since the latest update I don’t have any complaints and even when it glitched (the sound wouldn’t play at times usually if the lesson was stopped due to other activity on my phone) if I exited the app and came back it was fine. I only have praise for Yousician! This app has sooo many different helpful components. From video and lessons to songs and challenges (against other users) to charts and emails that encourage you and track your progress. All the video lessons are extremely easy to comprehend and the layout makes it extremely easy to navigate. It is super addictive!!! There are several times Ive been totally sucked in spending hours glued to the app trying to perfect a lesson to rack up gold stars. I promise you the money is beyond worth it! You cannot beat the convenience of going at your pace practicing at any time for as long as you like! There are 3 sections (knowledge, rhythm, and lead). I have completed knowledge and I’m on the 3rd level of rhythm. I love the progressive levels. Rhythm and lead each have 10 levels and knowledge has 5. The gradual build from one lesson to another is pretty much flawless. I’m definitely going to write a review when I’m finished with all 3 sections. This app is my blessing!
