Sorry, I’ve got no interest in making an account or signing in via Spybook (formerly Facebook). So I had to make up some random yahoo email address and “create an account”. This was after a forced update, which is entirely unnecessary for an app like this.
  • Weird cost of entry

The previous version forced a splash screen but did not require a sign-in. The purpose of the app appeared to be simply to way to reign in copyright infringement on YouTube. Now, someone got the bright idea to require a user sign-in. Guess what? You can't throw them anyone's e-mail and they don't bother to verify before letting you in! Not only are they probably harvesting info but they don't care whose! Go ahead and throw the machine anyone's e-mail. It doesn't much matter to them.
  • Please update

The app is terribly buggy. The app crashes at random moments and is just slow in general. If you fix this my review will go up to a five star because it is a great idea.

I love the idea of accessing and viewing any season or skit. However, this app only works about 65% of the time. Far too often if you search for a specific host name, the app just spins. Lately I have been unable to see any seasons older than season 39. Please fix!!!

I am old enough to have watched the debut episode and loved how this app let me relive some great memories. Now the app wants me to sign in or create a profile. It may sound silly, but I am tired of being asked to give my information to an app so I can lose even more privacy. At least I can still watch some of these videos on YouTube without sharing personal information.

NBC requires you to establish a profile to use the new version of the app. No thanks. Really thuggish to require this, feels heavy handed and that turns me off. And the long PR-speak reply NBC left to someone else’s review complaining about the same thing just makes me roll my eyes. People want control. It pisses us off when we feel forced to do something. How hard is that to understand? You’d get plenty of emails if you made it optional and gave an incentive to sign up, but no, you had to get greedy and you want ALL the emails. Fine. I don’t need to watch your app that badly.

While I’d rather have access to full episodes. I’d pay if I could. The app isn’t a terrible idea to navigate the realities of copyright. However the app itself runs like absolute garbage. Simulations of the Big Bang would run more smoothly on windows95 than these short videos do on this app. Can’t airplay videos and it crashes every second. Just release the episodes on iTunes already. Jesus Christ.
