War was introduced and the game is ruined. Too bad. It was fun while it lasted.
  • Loved it until the last update

I started playing SimCity because I loved the original Windows 3.1 game. This is quite similar to it, with some modern additions (obviously, I mean it's almost 3 decades later). There are many fun quests/competitions to complete and compete in, but it was a great non-violent and strategic game. They introduced the Club Wars feature recently and I have officially lost interest. It adds another level of competition, which for some is fun, but for me it's just too much now. Competing in the Contest of Mayors, Vu Challenges, Epic Projects, cargo shipments via air and land, as well as just "running" your city; that's a lot. But adding in this new feature is officially too much. I am taking a break from SimCity BuildIt for awhile. I'm disappointed, too, because I've put a lot of my own money into it.

*UPDATE* The latest version of this game (club Wars) absolutely stinks! I play this game to build a city and compete in a friendly manor with fellow mayors in my team. I play Boom Beach when I want to battle...this is not the right game for this! Also, the Club Wars run concurrently with the Contest of Mayors, which requires way too much time. If I don’t participate I either, then I will get booted from my club for non-participation. Thank you EA for destroying an amazing game!!! I will NEVER spend any real money on this game ever again! *Previous Review* I have been playing this game for over a ear and love it. I play 6 out of 7 days a week, and love the contest of mayors. I have over a million sims occupying my town, and love the newer futuristic updates. That being said, it needs to be easier to increase storage, and to gain new items to continue to build the new omega sections.

Well, I was sitting down wondering which game isn’t a loop of the same thing and I saw that this game had a major update. I’ve never played it before but it caught my attention. So, I downloaded it and I’ve been playing it for 2 hours straight and I have to say that this game is so far so good.

It’s a really good game, once you get a hang of it. You have to be patient and know when to upgrade and build new houses. I had to learn that I was not always ready to build one, because I could barely afford the utilities on what I already had. It’s best to take it slow and don’t rush expanding. I wish there was a remodeling mode or something, where you could store all of your buildings and other items in a inventory and redesign your city. Other than that, I love this game!

The developer has been making dramatic changes to game balance and feel. They included a WAR component in a building game?! They could have kept the game mechanisms and turned it into a building competition, but they figured people who play building games want a war game... Global trading HQ no longer appears to be useful to players, making it a grind to feel successful, more often than not empty of needed items. Only 1 month ago this was a fun experience and great game. I do not recommend joining this game at this time.
