Thanks for the great update which now NO LONGER allows me to bill my expenses. This app WAS great. It WAS affordable. It WAS exactly what I needed. NOW it’s USELESS. If I can’t forward on my tracked expenses and get reimbursed, why do I need you? Call customer service. Wait you can’t. Chat with customer service.... well, now I’m told that I need to buy more services. I don’t need more services. I just need to track receipts. Thanks for nothing intuit.

I was hoping I would love this app but the user functionality is marginal. The search function is limited and although the summary shows expenses categorized as one thing when trying to search for that category in reviewed transactions it doesn't show up. The mileage tracker isn't always accurate and requires one to go in manually on the computer not mobile device for an easier way to track. Doesn't capture estimated tax payments even after identifying the payment as such. Semi-cheap way to organize so for that part I'll probably keep using it. Will decide after I pull all my taxes together at year end.

This app aligns with their online program. I am frustrated with several missing features, primarily in the mileage tracking areas. The help/suggestions show many many many users have my same complaints below and they STILL haven't fixed it. It's 2017...and a digital based company...if you can't make a user friendly platform, then don't do it. I just added the app, which might work fine for upcoming tracking. However, I have to manually add each and every trip in before this. And I want to save anyone trying to use QB Self-Employed for any mileage entries that you might need to add that aren't fracked on the app: You have to fully type in every single detail EACH AND EVERY ADDRESS, MILES, ETC. EVERY SINGLE ENTRY. It doesn't auto save entries so you can reuse them, auto fill for addresses doesn't exist (you can set chrome to link and auto fill a portion of the address but it rarely if ever works, and is wrong half the time). So if you make the same trips for work and use the same addresses, go to same places, you still have to type every single character in for the to and from address, calculate and hand type in the miles each time, and the reasons in. Also, You can't tell when you are typing in the to or from box until you've typed it all in. So you have to enter it, then once you hit add, you can tell if you were typing in the to or from address box. If it's wrong...You get to delete it and try again. I feel trapped bc I have my entire info for the year in but you can't export it to turbo tax until you've finished mileage. You also can't export it unless you bought the bundle package. If I'd known this I wouldn't have used this. I'd be fine with it if this and other features were more user friendly and time saving. Mileage is a huge component of self employment, it should have all features made to make it easy and functional. I don't need to reinvent the wheel every single time I want to hand enter a trip.

Quickbooks is really easy to use and takes no time to learn. It has a nice Invoice feature that even lets you include your company logo. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and recommended it to anyone with a small business.

I’m a tax professional and I recommend this app all the time to my simple clients who would otherwise be doing tracking by hand. It’s simple and straightforward if you file a schedule C. It is NOT the same as QuickBooks Online and it’s not supposed to be. If you want a full accounting program then use QuickBooks Online and don’t complain that this cheaper option doesn’t do it all.
