    It is mediocre. Love the simplicity but the rating procedure is ridiculous. Some buyers take forever to rate and though after 72 hours you get your funds if they haven’t rated yet, that is still way too long of a wait after you’ve done your part! I am taking time out of my day to properly package and prepare an item to be sent accordingly to a customer and my payment takes days after delivery all because of an inconsiderate customer. Sellers should receive our funds as soon as the shipping carrier confirms it has been delivered. And then the buyer can freely rate whenever they want without inconveniencing the sellers if they take awhile to get to rate. God.

    I almost lost out on $115 on this app. I had to talk to their customer service for like 3 weeks to get it back after I had been scammed with knockoff microphones. Now I’m trying to open the app just to remove items I was selling so that I can delete the app and it won’t run on my iPhone X on iOS 12. Just when I thought the app couldn’t cause me any more frustration. I have never rated an app one star before.

    Originally, when I paid for my purchase, I assumed my address was correct when I signed up for an account. When I realized my item was mailed to an address I lived at almost 10 years prior, I assumed their system was in error because I signed up with my current address. The support team blamed the error on me and wrote that their system cannot search old or current addresses. My problem with that is, instead of trying to help me figure out what happened, they blamed me for error. After many emails later going back and forth, someone on their side figured out the problem and made the suggestion to me to verify if ApplePay was the culprit. It turns out, that’s exactly what the problem was. All I ever wanted was for someone to help me figure out what happened, instead of blaming me. Eventually they did, but only after many email attempts to the contrary. It’s not good business to blame customers instead of helping them.

    This company is shameless. The cancellation process is obtuse and against the consumer. If you cancel a sell because the seller sold a counterfit Mercari puts a mark against the buyer. So please "buyer beware." Avoid this app and go for any product that uses paypal that protects the consumer and not the profit of the seller and conduit.

    I bought a cell phone knowing that there were some broken parts. The seller said that it was completely unlocked and the battery was bad and the screen was cracked. I received the phone and it was much worse than that. Screws were missing, the cable for the back camera was cut, the screen and back glass was broken. The battery was destroyed and the motherboard was damaged. The seller would not give me a refund so I reached out to the Mercari customer support. I explained the situation and they said that they would not give me my money back either. They said the phone was listed in poor condition and they wouldn’t issue a refund. This is horrible customer service and this is exactly what they are supposed to protect against. Beware when using this app.

    It's good for finding things you might want if you're OK without it being new. The only problems I had were there are many people who won't ship you item within the expected period or at all, and the rating system only works for successfully received item so unsuccessful shipping won't show up in their reviews. Ideally they'd have a better negative reporting system but like everything out there (except YouTube) they're scared of doing that.

    Made a purchase and waited almost 2 weeks for item. Emailed customer support and the seller. Seller responded that item was mailed a week ago. Never did get a response from customer support other than today that my order was cancelled because the item was damaged. Now since the seller had said the item was mailed I went digging and found that she sold to someone else at a higher price AFTER she told me she had mailed to me. I can not even make a comment about this on their website. No reply from Mercari so I assume that hey support this type of seller. Will not go back to buy or sell. Buyers beware you will get no support from this website. The only reason I gave it 1 star was because it wouldn’t send my comment if I didn’t rate. Wish I could have given it a -5
  • Garbage Scam of a company

    You CAN NOT talk with a manager. This is a fact after spending a day trying to get a hold of a representative if you ask to talk to a manager your told “managers don’t talk on the phone only email”. You call customer service and the automated system hangs up on you stating you have exceeded your maximum wait time.
