Learn Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more languages with Babbel. Developed by a team of language learning experts, Babbel has helped millions of people speak a new language with confidence. THE BABBEL METHOD Here’s what makes Babbel more effective than any other language learning app: 1. Confidence — Our goal is to get you speaking from your very first lesson. And our elegantly designed courses give you the confidence to get there. We teach you how to engage in practical, everyday conversations, making it easier for you to have authentic experiences in your new language. 2. Comprehension — Our lessons immerse you in relevant culture and real-life conversations. We want you to really take in the language, not just memorize useless phrases. And we provide helpful hints in English (or your native language) to make your new language more relatable. 3. Retention — We know you’re busy. That’s why our lessons are short but sweet: about 10-15 minutes, and designed to send your new language straight to long-term memory. We regularly refresh your memory with our dynamic review sessions, which target areas where you need improvement most. Finally, we make sure you really grasp what you’re learning by bringing it back later in a new context. • Money, money , money

    By I_am_not_paying
Behind every app is how they can take Your money. Nobody want to help You, to teach You or to help You learning something. They all want Your money. This app is the exact example of this. You finish Your first lesson and then the magic start. If You want to countinueYou have to pay, pay and pay. I delete the app immediately and then they start sending emails offering you to continue, discounts, questins type" where are You", " we are missing You ", " why you are not log in for few days". Don't even waste Your time with this app....

Paid $29 for 3 month sub. Received immediate receipt from Apple. Babbel account says my daughter has an active account, when we go to start a lesson it tells us we need “access,” and leads us back to the subscription plan tiers. No response from app support. Spend more money on your flipping app, and not your flipping TV commercials!! Fix it or refund us.
  • Easier than some

    By Draeviidew
I don’t have great language aptitude, but wanted to work to learn one, as it is supposed to be good for the mind. I am pushing 60, so learning anything new is tough, but I like this and have it for a year, so we’ll see.
  • You must Pay for everything

    By Truth,loyalty,and fighter
First off. Me getting this app was thinking this was gonna be FREE and like another nice language learning app like Mondly or Duolingo or Busuu. But instead after you finish the first lesson of every module you can either start the next first free lesson of the next module that you might not even understand or pay a subscription. Like $15 a per month. The prices for subscription are just way to much for me. Like I don’t mind $2 or $5 a month or two but $15 EVERY MONTH For a lesson from an app I don’t have much experience with. How do you expect me to pay that by the second lesson. I don’t even know if this app will really help me learn and your asking for this much money??! Are you serious?!...this ain’t it chief.
  • It’s great to brush up on a language I’ve learned

    By Meladelgra
This app is great for me on trying to brush up and use the French I learned in high school. It’s been over 25 years since I learned the basics but I never really had a chance to use my French speaking skills until now. Babble has been great and I love that I can do the courses during my early morning work outs!
  • I liked the app but no longer works

I used this app for a while but it hasn’t worked now for a full month. It says in error mode.
  • There are better-designed learning alternatives out there

    By Dubficianado
I used Babbel unpaid for a while, after which I decided to splurge for the paid version, all in an effort to learn Portuguese. I have since discovered after letting my paid subscription expire that there are better paid alternatives out there. Heck, I'd go as far as to claim that the free version of Duolingo is better for learning than the paid version of Babbel. Babbel's price tag is simply indefensible. My main gripe with Babbel is the incredibly annoying auto-advance feature that prevent the learner from listening to a sentence featured at the end of an exercise as many times as they need to. Too often I found myself asking: "Wait.... What did he/she just say?” and then realized that there was no way of hearing that particular sentence in that particular part of the exercise without redoing the entire exercise again, which was irksome, to say the least. Secondly, some of the voice actors they use are just awful and just a pain to listen to. One guy in particular comes to mind..... he always sounded drunk and half asleep...... with his mouth full of food. It was like listening to a Portuguese Droopy. All in all, Babbel is a decent concept. Having paid for it once, however, I could never be convinced that I got my money's worth.
  • Money grab

Starts charging $26 a Month with no warning.
  • Can’t cancel!!

    By Tnrchrds2
There is nowhere to cancel in the app or website. Not good
  • The sync is messed up

    By Sidharathc
Bought my subscription online and used it on the web but nothing reflects on the iPad app. I’m hoping that sync is a big feature with an app over multiple platforms else how am I supposed to keep progressing while traveling or while on my desk. Not cool
