  • Learn when you want.

    By OGRichie
Udemy is a great place to learn from. Lots of free courses to take. There are lots of paid courses too , and if you willing to wait lot of them can be gotten at discounted prices. Most of the courses are pretty good, while a few are boring, or just not intelligible. Which is why the 4star. The app is great cuz you can download a course and watch it anywhere without a Internet connection, allowing you to learn when you want and where. I use it when I know I'm gonna be waiting for long periods of time.
  • Downloaded titles for offline viewing, then they disappeared as soon as I had no internet connection

Very irritated about this. Spent a couple of hours downloading an amazon web services course before an 8 hour flight. Watched as the individual lectures were being downloaded. The intention was to view the videos on the long flight. I know the materials were on the device since I was watching them at the airport and the icons showed them as having been downloaded. As soon as I boarded the plane, switched to airplane mode (no internet) the videos disappeared. When I landed, checked the courses again, and with an internet connection active, the videos reappeared with icons showing they had been downloaded. At any rate, incredibly irritating.
  • So far, so good.

I'm a huge fan of Udemy. Been taking their courses for years but only recently started doing so on mobile devices. Some folks have complained of issues with the mobile app but so far I've had no trouble.
  • Wish there is split view support for iPads

    By GreenFingerer
Great contents of course. But since this review is for an iOS version, I have to point of the app is missing one old iPad function that's greatly useful for online trainings - Split View. I'd like to take notes and watch the trainings all on one device even when I am on the train or just sitting outdoors. Switching between apps is a terrible workaround and not a solution. The bottom line is - I still need to carry my laptop with me if I want to do serious Udemy classes.
  • Nice content, app needs some enhancements

    By d3atiq
Specifically about watching the courses over AppleTV with AirPlay: The app should prevent the phone or iPad from turning off the screen, but it doesn't. Then after a few minutes the device goes to sleep and my course stops. Sometimes the AirPlay connection just vanishes and I have to reconnect, and others yet I cannot even reconnect AirPlay without restarting the Udemy app. This is an important usability item for those who watch courses over a small screen phone on Apple TV. Worth some enhancements.
  • App unable to split screen

The app is unable to perform split screen with GoodNotes, where I wish it can where student can watch the video at one side and write notes on the other side.
  • Learning at my pace and schedule

    By Bsteph33
I've really enjoyed the short chapters and more importantly the ability to go back and review at my timing. I'm learning and that's what matters to me.
  • Quickest learning tool for employees

    By MDub:-)
We have enrolled our employees in all courses from accounting, sales, WordPress design to leadership. We have found Udemy to be an extremely valuable tool for our business.
  • Useless for offline use.

I've tried it multiple times with different versions. Also written to support but no progress. If you like to download even a single course for offline viewing/listening then this is NOT the app for you. The course won't download and when you somehow manage to download it it'll go back to burning your data in the middle of it and if you're underground then it would just stop abruptly.
