Good for beginning runners and those working up to running their first race.

The developers of this app are intentionally misleading in how they display the ability of their Apple Watch “extension app” in the screenshots shown for this app. There is a toggle in the screenshot showing “Using Watch Stand Alone,” yet I cannot even see where the app is listed in my Apple Watch app to even install, let alone be able to run it natively on the app. I will be requesting a refund from either the developer or Apple, as I had a previous 10K trainer app that fills the same purpose. Very shady, not impressed.

Does not coach you during the workout on the watch thru Bluetooth like it does on your iPhone. Waste of money.

From Zen Labs FAQ: “You need to have the phone nearby in order for the watch to work. The app is not a standalone app on the watch, as it requires the phone to function properly.” Based on this, the app is useless for my purposes.

Complete waste of money. Was hoping to leave my phone at home and just take my watch with me on my runs and run the application off of it. You HAVE to have your phone close to you, running the app simultaneously, and even then, it doesn’t even alert you on the watch, no vibration, no ding, nothing. I was previously using the free 10K app by c25k and really enjoyed it. Now I’m frustrated and wanting my money back because it offers nothing more than what you already get with the free version of the app. Don’t waste your money on this. If I could get a refund I would.
  • Works but doesn’t send data to any other apps

I am disappointed it doesn’t talk to Apple health or MFP or anything else that does talk to Apple health. I don’t get credit for a workout on my trackers and that’s a big flaw. I can start a second app at the same time but that’s a hassle and sort of makes this app less relevant. I paid for pro and it seems like it’s an afterthought v their C25k app.

Great pacing and a user-friendly interface. It made running 6 miles seem doable!

Update 06/18: why am I always restarting running?? This love/hate relationship with running. The wonky notifications continue with the half way notifications coming twice - Week 2 tone “you are half way” tone “Begin running” tone “your are half way.” Then at the end - tone “one more minute”...tone “one more minute.” Update 07/17: I like the app (really should anyone have to use this app as much as I do? Injury/laziness = stop running then lets go back to the app again. Notifications continue to be an issue for me. In week 1, you will hear the tone then voice tell you that you are half way (which throws me off because I started running), then tone again "Begin running," tone, "You are half way." This problem has continued into week 3 - it's not handling the placement of the half way indication with the next run. I've heard them so much, I know what to expect. If I lock the screen on the app then push the power button to turn off the screen, you will not hear audio notifications. If you lock the screen in the app and put your phone away and allow your settings to turn off the screen after your preset time, notifications work. Frustrating because it's habit for me to hit the power button to lock/turn off screen. If I lock the screen in the app and swap to my music app and lock with power button, notifications don't work. Mind you when you take the time to pull the phone BACK out, you will see all your missed notifications on the notification screen. Fix these issues and this will be lot better. Update 01/17: This is a solid app for anyone looking to do the C25K program (and beyond). I still haven't run with the watch again since I use my garmin to track runs to keep all my data. Now if y'all will figure out a way to stop asking if I like the app after every run session. ___ Previous Update: Good Gracious. I finally figured out the notification issue. Now for the watch issue. ____ I've tested lots of c25k apps. I thought this one was my favorite. Gave me the c25k program and beyond to 10k. Wasn't there a screen lock? It doesn't work in the background - I don't even have the option to make it work in the background. If I start the app and move to my music app, it stops prompting you. If I lock my phone, it stops promoting. It is be the app on the screen and active. Once in a while, I'll get the stray prompt, "you can starting walking." Huh? I was walking. Did I miss a run prompt? It messes with your brain when that happens. The app for the apple watch is worthless. It only refreshes when you lift your arm to look at the screen. I can't remember if I started it on my phone or watch, but the watch app completed the warm up countdown and then just stayed at zero. It never prompted for run or anything. So if it's not prompting with a little noise or vibration I can't use it since that is all its supposed to do.
