    Very functional and intelligently designed. Would love to get the pro version and happy to pay for it but it’s on the basis of an expensive subscription. A one time payment, even if substantial, would be fine but a subscription isn’t kosher in my book.

    You don’t technically need the app to do the workout, but it’s definitely helpful. The app is really simple and does what Mehdi claims it does, helps you focus on the lift by keeping track of things like time and sets for you. Honestly tapping the circle to mark the set done is pretty satisfying. One update I would love to see is a larger timer. Each workout is only 3 exercises.. which on my phone means there’s a lot of empty space with a tiny little timer in a bottom ribbon that I have to squint to see.

    This program is simple and easy to follow. I started working out at 35 years of age, and gained about 1 lb muscle/month, until I added about 15 lbs, while becoming lean as well. I don't think there is another program that is as straightforward as this, free (the advanced features you don't really need- I started using them after two years or so). Most programs just give you confusing "bro-science" instructions, complex routines, while also trying to sell you things you don't need. If you read about the creator of this program - Mehdi - he is genuinely passionate about lifting, and teaching people how to do it right. He goes over the technique of each lift in detail, so you don't get injured. Follow up the program and do NOT modify it! No need for assistance exercise for a while, until you gain decent strength.

    Have entered into my equipment that I have 1.25 lb plates, but the app will not recognize this and keeps telling me that I don’t have the necessary equipment.

    The app becomes impossible to use after awhile, possibly do to the amount of data stored. I'm in the middle of a workout and its constantly crashing. Please fix!

    If you EAT, sleep, and hydrate the program will work for you. If not, you’ll get bored and switch to something else. As a branch of the starting strength program, it’s important to acknowledge that this is for build confidence in your strength as a foundation and then moving to other aesthetics or powerlifting avenues. Use it as such and I think it’s a phenomenal app,even with the free version.
