This app works about 1/2 the time. False alerts and no alerts when there should be. I'm sure they'll reply with there stock response about Bluetooth connectivity. So that causes alerts saying I'm getting too far away from my phone when it's sitting right next to me? Nope. Update......this morning the app says I'm almost out of range when both my phone and watch are right next to each other. I leave my watch at home and leave. No alert whatsoever. Apple, where are you? Why do you let people sell sham junk to your customers.
  • App Support difficulty

My phone just sent me an alert that my device has been jailbroken. Apple Support can't find anything on my device that suggests the same. If this were the case I have to factory reset my phone without backing up my current data which means I lose any recently added data since my last back up. I have no way to reach Lookout app support other than this review. I've search the app, the website, the Apple Store where you initially download this app. With that being said, 3 stars because at least the app works but I can't reach anyone with this developer to discuss how the alert located this "malicious malware." Will someone from this developer please reach out to me and advise how this problem came about? Thanks. I'll edit this to 5 stars if I get contacted and the problem is legit. Otherwise Apple support advised Apple devices don't need malware apps.
  • Notifications aren't accurate

TL;DR: Don't download for Apple Watch. I downloaded this strictly for my Apple Watch. It constantly notified me that my phone was out of range even though it's in my pocket. When I actually did leave it, it didn't notify me at all. If you're advertising this as compatible, it should at least work some time. I just wish Apple made the Watch notify you when it disconnects rather than just the notification icon.

Not ready for prime. Thankfully, my Bluetooth headset is more reliable in alerting me when I'm out of range. Please improve it.

  • A security app that is surprisingly invasive

You can't do anything with this app until you go through some stupid quiz questions that tell what the answer is. It continual asks you to turn on location services(which I don't do for any reason) and requires an email address, which is when I removed it from my phone. This doesn't look like something that will protect you. It looks like something that will make it worse.
  • Becoming more reliable.

EDIT: The longer I have the Lookout app, the fewer false alarms I seem to receive. Below is my original review, and I still have reservations about fully endorsing the app, but I want to note some improvements have appeared. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Before I bought my Apple Watch, I had two Pebble watches in succession. Each of them reliably warned me when I was leaving my iPhone behind, and I trusted that if some nefarious stranger lifted the phone from my pocket, the watch would vibrate as soon as it lost contact. And, importantly, I NEVER received a false alarm from either Pebble watch. Yesterday I downloaded the Lookout app for my Apple Watch. I anticipated a similar level of performance, but I should not have been so optimistic. Lookout has, on average, given me a false "lost contact" notification about once each hour since I installed the app on my phone and watch. On most occasions the phone was in my pocket, and at least twice, IN MY HAND. These inaccurate disconnect notices occurred when I had a Bluetooth earpiece playing podcasts in my ear, all without losing connection with my phone. Such use of Bluetooth never affected my Pebbles. The developers need to reread the fable of the boy who cried wolf. Too many false alarms mean that we who want to use the Lookout app will stop trusting that its notices are worth paying attention to. Perhaps a phone call to the Pebble developers will help to guide a revision of the app, such that the reliability I came to expect before from Pebble, can be found on my newer watch from Apple.

App needs to be fixed. Continually sends notifications to my Apple Watch saying my phone is out of range. Developer needs to work on software before I would use again. It's a shame it doesn't work, would be a great app if it works as advertised.
