  • Buggy app that needs major updates

    By jPhone6#
The app is buggy and does not clear the inbox correctly. I see notifications for new faxes that I cannot clear. The app is very old or outdated in terms of its design. It is not optimized for today's phones. The company does not appear have mobile app development as a priority. Fax, as a technology, is unfortunately going the way of the typewriter it looks like the fax companies that are out there right now do not focus on developing their capabilities or robust applications. Some industries, however, still rely heavily on fax so I wish that effects would update their application and develop their platform.
  • Not as good as it seems

Normally, if I want to send a fax, I send it from my fax machine at work. I’ve been out of the office for an extended period of time and needed to send a fax so I looked for an app that would allow me to send one from my iPad and decided to give eFax a try. I tried the free version of eFax yesterday because I needed to send a few pages, thinking it would be a one time need. I prepared my document and cover page only to get an error saying that my recipient name exceeded the max. I altered every field on the cover page and took out a recipient name all together. Still kept getting the error. Only when I disabled the cover page was I able to send the fax. I had several more documents that I needed to send today so I opted to try out the subscription for a month. More issues. I tried to fax a 34 page document. Prepped the file and the cover page and hit send. A few minutes later, I got an email confirmation. It said I’d sent 1 page. Tried again. Got another confirmation saying I’d sent 1 page. I waited until the sent file showed up and I saw it had only sent the cover page. I tried the “contact us” email option in the app. After I’d sent my email, I got an email notification thanking me for my feedback. NOTE: if you are trying to contact for support via the app, this is for feedback only even though it is not labeled as such. I went to their website, selected the option for support and started a chat. Waited a few minutes for an agent. Explained my problem and was told that I’d reached sales and they could not help. I tried calling their customer support. I got an offshore representative who did not seem to understand my problem. He told me that my fax had been successfully sent with 1 page. When I explained the problem again, he told me just wait. Maybe the rest of the pages would go through later. I hung up in frustration. In the end, I sent my fax two pages at a time and disabled the cover letters each time. I would not recommend this app. It is not efficient, does not always work as expected, that the customer support is not good. I'll be canceling my subscription.
  • Needs better update

    By CAS2
The recent update caused many issues. It takes way too long to view a fax and at times pages remain blank.

Legit the jankiest system I've ever used. Almost impossible to cancel and functions/looks like the literal 1990s digital age. If only I could rate "0" stars.

Very difficult to use to add text to a cover page and interface with iBooks to send an attachment.
