I will quickly make this app 5 stars if we can get a release that has working live TV. I check several times a day hoping we get a new release. PLEASE FIX!!! While you are at it fix the Roku version of the app as well. Want to love HULU, but you make it hard to stay with you.
  • Too slow

Glitchy and choppy at all the wrong times. Buffer time is about 5 minutes for a video and I have top notch internet. The Hulu server is so slow. I pay 45 per month and still have to sit through ads. Money hungry company that tries to get you anyway it can. Fix your stuff weak company. It’s terrible that I can’t fast forward or rewind through ads. I thought this is what I was paying so much for. Every time I skim though it loses place and picks up in the middle of an ad
  • Okay content, terribly designed app

Hulu has some decent content, and I will likely continue to subscribe until this last season of The Good Place ends. But wow, the way this app was designed is so flawed and difficult to use. If the app were better designed, I would continue to subscribe indefinitely; as it stands, I can’t wait to not “need” this subscription. Here are some of my main issues: • The feature that allows you to “press and hold to seek” is such a pain. I am constantly moving around in my shows unintentionally, because any time my hand just barely touches the screen, it scrolls to another part of the show. If the developers insist on keeping this feature, please at least make it less sensitive to unintentional touches. • On a related note, why is it that the buttons to rewind and fast forward are 10 and 30 seconds, respectively? Make them both 10 seconds, please! It is so annoying to have to hit the fast forward button and then hit the rewind button twice just to fast forward 10 seconds. • Any time I rewind near an ad break, I have to sit through the ads again, despite having just watched them. This is particularly frustrating given the first issue I listed, as I am often unintentionally rewinding past an ad break and being forced to rewatch ads just to get back to where I initially was. This is so not cool. • This app is terrible at remembering where I was in a show. It often saves my place as being right before the previous ad break I had already watched (oftentimes just minutes earlier), so I have to rewatch those ads just to find where I was in the show. • Why haven’t the developers done what Netflix does and provided a button that allows you to skip through the opening credits of a show? This is particularly problematic given that the fast forward button is 30 seconds, and most shows’ openings are not in increments of 30. • It is so annoying that I can’t listen to shows in the background, like I can with Netflix. This is truly one of the biggest issues I have with the app. • When I hold my phone vertically, it shows a list of shows, with only one of them being the next episode of the show I’m currently watching, and the others being shows the app thinks are related the the show I’m watching. I have unintentionally selected a different show more times than I can count, when I didn’t even want to switch from what I am watching. Additionally, it’s annoying that it doesn’t just show a list of the following episodes of the same show, as I often want to skip ahead a few episodes of a show I may have seen before. • I accepted that I would have to watch ads to receive the lower rate for Hulu, but the amount of ads is often excessive. This is especially annoying when I am watching shows that are on the “free” networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox), and the time taken up by ads on Hulu is more than what I would have to sit through when watching the shows live when they air. Overall, Hulu’s app developers seem to be trying to reinvent the wheel, so to speak, in terms of streaming apps. Netflix has done a much better job of building a simpler user interface that is intuitive and just works. It also seems like many of the design flaws result in me having to watch far more ads than should be necessary. I seem to have many of the same issues that other reviewers have mentioned, so I hope Hulu looks at what people are saying and makes changes accordingly. It should not be this cumbersome to watch a streaming service that I am paying for.

it's a great app but, these ads are way too annoying. It takes too much time out of my binge watching.

This version of Hulu stinks, it has constant audio problems, sometimes it will work when watching a program majority of the time it doesn’t! I have to constantly restart the show, I end up watching more commercials than actual content. Oddly, there are no playback issues during commercials. I wonder if I can get my money back, since I am paying to watch commercials and not shows?
