  • The new and improved app

    By RABGC
I read (or attempt to read) “Today’s Paper” on my ipad. Most days the app will freeze and require reloading. This is true whether you view online or offline. Particularly irritating is the inability to load the offline version without an online connection. Other newspapers I read (NYT and WSJ for example) have much better apps and do not have these issues. So get with it Newsday. The new and improved app let me get to page 52 of 136 pages before freezing. And it only froze once. I guess thats an improvement.

    App works great!
  • Widget won’t open on IPhone and iPad

    By beachbumny
You just updated the app to fix issues but apparently I have now lost access to using the widget. It keeps telling me to sign in which I continually did and the newsday app opens. But when I go back to the widget it says “ please sign in” . I hope you fix this ASAP as it is happening on my iPhone and iPad.
  • Propaganda sheet

Newsday stopped reader comments. No discussion of their absurdly biased coverage is allowed. Only read this fish wrap for local events and sports👎
  • Crashes

    By Mike Sande
App is constantly crashing today. Also, only one edition is available online. Why not other additions?
  • Incredibly poor app

    By loyal_reader
This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. It is slow, and often just hangs and refuses to work. Worst of all, it demands that you be connected to the internet - even if you have downloaded the paper and don’t want any online features, the app will refuse to connect to allow you to view the paper you’ve downloaded. This has been going on for years, with no sign of ever improving. It is especially bad on an iPad (as opposed to phone). I like Newsday as a paper, but this app is just awful.
  • Will update.

Will update once using the app more. Had a hard time signing in.
  • Annoying Navigation

    By Eropelt
I select the paper to read Newsday. When swiping or zooming in on an article it constantly goes to the on-line article. I have to click “Done” to get back to the paper. It does this for every article
  • Breaking News - New restaurant

    By Kplan23
Newsday logged me out of their app and won’t let me back in with my Optimum ID and password. ——————- Apparently whatever is going on in this world, Newsday finds restaurant openings and closings to be of the utmost interest to its readers. Ads disguised as news. Let’s not forget the nostalgia pictures as filler. Sorry Newsday, that’s why we stopped home delivery many years ago. I do get an old copy from my neighbor to line the bottom of my parrots cage.
  • Scrolling issue

    By FireRunt
If you accidentally swipe partially right or left while reading a story, it jumps back to the beginning. Horrible if you are reading a long article and have to find your place again. Update: As of July 15, 2018.....still having the same issue every though they told me they are working on it. They’ve released 15 updates since I first complained about it but they haven’t fixed this small scrolling issue. Guess they don’t care what their end user experience is like.
