Description

GyPSy Guide’s narrated driving tour for Grand Canyon South National Park is an excellent way to enjoy all the benefits of a guided tour while you explore at your own pace. There are 190+ audio points that play automatically along the tour route, featuring the best things to see and do, stories, tips and driving directions. Professional tour guides share advice on how to prioritize your time at recommended “not to be missed” viewpoints, suggested side-trips and places of interest. Tours work offline, using free GPS signal and location services, so no data roaming, network, or wifi is required while touring. Visit www.gypsyguide.com for route maps, sample commentary and tips & advice. It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™ WHAT TO EXPECT: On the 1 – 1.5hr drive towards the Grand Canyon South Rim, listen to fascinating stories and a plan for exploring the Park. We’ll make a quick geology recap interesting, share the achievements of a woman who shined in the male dominated field of architecture, tell you about some of the local wildlife, recount the drama of some unscrupulous entrepreneurs and direct you to where you can learn more about local Native American tribes. Once inside the Park, we tour straight to the best viewpoints of Mather and Yavapai on a loop around Grand Canyon Village. Then our drive extends along Desert View Drive, to the many recommended viewpoints including Grandview, Lipan, Duck Rock, culminating with a visit to Desert View Watchtower. The tour officially starts and ends at Williams, Flagstaff or Cameron. Or you can join and pick up the commentary anywhere along the route. Narration will automatically trigger at the next commentary point. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Highlights along the tour route include • Grand Canyon South Village • Mather Point • Lipan Point • Desert View Drive • Yavapai Point • Duck Rock • Grandview Point • Tusayan Ruins & Museum • Desert View Watchtower • Route 66 Town of Williams • San Francisco Peaks • Little Colorado River Gorge • Chapel of the Holy Dove Don't miss out on the best stops and stories. Enhance your National Park experience with our audio driving tours. BATTERY USAGE: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note that Apple only install these on the iPad Wifi + Cellular models. Wifi only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks. ABOUT US: GyPSy Guide™ produce award winning narrated audio tours along scenic drives and road trips around the world. Enjoyed by travelers who prefer to set their own pace and itinerary on vacation, but enjoy a fun, informative and educational guided experience while driving themselves. And there will be more- we first used your app when we climbed Haleakala and we just used it again during our visit to the Grand Canyon.. what can I say besides these guides added so much to our visits?! - we have 2 sons ( 10 & 12) and we all got so much out of the perfectly timed / well-researched insights, information, tidbits, and stories. Without gypsy, we would have missed so much along the way and we would not have known the significance of certain places, topography, geography, geology, vistas, etc. seriously, I can’t say enough - if this easy-to-use App is available on your specific trip, you’d be crazy not to use it !!!
  • Best $ we ever spent on a tour!

This was by far the best money we ever spent on a tour. There are excellent descriptions of the sites and good directions for arrival and leaving each of the areas. Highly recommended.

My only suggestion is that we have a way to go back and hit dots we missed. We joined late and would have liked to get the commentary we missed. Very interesting!

Your own personal tour guide with lots of extra information about things you’re seeing. Really worth having and because we liked it so much, we used the app for other parks we are visiting in our 2 week “out west” vacay. Kids liked it too!

Incredible incredible incredible!!!! We used this app on our drive from Flagstaff to the south rim of the Grand Canyon! The app picked up our location immediately and provided entertainment and info all the way to, during our time in the park, and all the way back from the Grand Canyon! I would love to see them expand to many other trips (including driving Route 66). Hands down the best app I’ve ever purchased!!!!

My family has now used Gypsy Guide for Yellowstone, Tetons, Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon. We always enjoy listening to the stories and educational facts that are shared. We have also found some great hidden gems thanks to the app. We always Hate when he signs off and we must drive on without his commentary. (I type as we leave Grand Canyon and head eastbound on Route 66). Route 66 would be an awesome addition to the collection!

Extremely helpful to first time visitors to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! It helped us get familiar with surroundings more quickly, be more prepared for waits, find parking, and nice tips for what to see before we left. Great history on the hour long drives to and from the Canyon, too. Thanks!

We loved this app. We were able to see everything in the park we wanted to see without consulting maps or paying for an expensive tour. I highly recommend it!

  • Cheaper & better than a tour company

No need to book a tour company and spend hundreds of dollars when this app does just as good of job, if not better. Take it from a guy who has done both.
