Gaia topomaps do not show some lakes in the Sierras (eg Lake Margorie, although I was told that this particular example had been fixed after I posted this review) and contains inaccuracies (eg locations of camping areas in Paradise Valley in Kings Canyon NP). I recommend downloading USGS topomaps in addition to Gaia maps if you will be traveling offline.
  • Love the app but could use improvements

I love the app. The only thing that drives me crazy is that you can’t customize u it’s of measure by what you are measuring. I really like having my units of measure for distance being metric, but would prefer to have my altitudes read in feet
  • This app is so sweet it shows all old sights and current as well love it to

Not sure if this is going to work to supplement my handheld mapping GPS yet. I need t be able to download offline maps, which requires a subscription. Fine. But after committing to the $20, the app still says I need to sign up. Not cool.

Good luck with your subscription model. Pay a yearly subscription for what I already own...? Bait and switch is a kind way of putting it.
  • Best GPS app

This is without a doubt the best GPS software on the App Store. Been using it for a year and is great for hiking and mapping routes for 4 wheeling runs. The route creation feature is a extremely useful tool. A+

I’ve been documenting treks for three years now and enjoy the this GPS tracker way more than the half dozen others I tried. Thanks !!!!

I use this gps system because it has great overlays and I can color code waypoints! I don’t know why I would need a handheld gps especially with the ability to save maps with layers on it! I had both trials of Gaia and OnX going at once and for the price, you can’t beat Gaia! As a hunter, fisherman, and hiker, I don’t see much difference between the two with the exception of price! The value of this product is amazing. Get it you won’t be sorry!
  • Unreadable

The free base map is purposefully unreadable, so that you must spend money to actually use it. Roads are single pixel wide lines indiscernible from other featured.
  • Expensive then you have to pay more👎🏾

Really $20 for the app and then another $20 to download maps or even get topo maps when you have WiFi or LTE! Lame. The original version was $20 and then you had full access. I feel ripped off
