  • Wonderful game but should be free given the amount of content

I finished the entire game in under 2 hours. Yes it is beautiful, yes it is engaging, and as far as the graphics and sounds go I think I like it even more than the original, but I don’t see how they can justify charging $6.99 for a complete game that feels like a first chapter. Another excellent puzzle game The Room has much more to do with even more detail and it’s $0.99. It’s even simpler than its predecessor which is $3.99, and isn’t challenging at all the way games should be. I wasn’t stuck even once I felt like I was just walking through the app. If it was marketed as a meditation program it would be more justifiable, but even so an app this one note with nothing left to do just two hours into it should be at most $1.99 or at least have more chapters coming soon or available for purchase.
  • Great game

Great game but a waste of money, part one was more enjoyable. The game is easier than the first one, also not enough levels I was done with it in one night while it took me week to figure the one game up from part one. I’m just not a big fan of season two the storyline was bothering and easy to solve.
  • It was a little short.

I loved it, but I was bummed it was much shorter than the first one.
  • An impeccable extension to an innovative legacy

Monument Valley was a, dare I say, monument, of innovation and design in mobile games. Combining gameplay, story and art in a way that most game developers wouldn’t even attempt let alone accomplish. The long awaited sequel had a lot to live up to and delivered. Instead of simply being a new set of levels (which, alone would have been well received) they managed to add new gameplay and create a new story, which again is told simply, but grabs ahold of one’s heart strings harder than the original and which stays with you after the game is complete. I have purchased Every offering Monument Valley has to offer. I have played them all through multiple times. And I eagerly await the next installment. I will echo the only common complaint, more content please. It’s just over too soon. Give us a level editor and your. Fan base will keep one another playing this game for years.

My friend told me about Monument So I purchased the first one and loved it! The graphics are beautiful and the games were challenging. I enjoyed every minute of it. Then I purchased Monument 2, excited for more. Initially I found the graphics even more beautiful and was excited to get going on the games. Unfortunately, there was no comparison to the first Monument. I flew through the games very quickly and found little challenge there. I kept hoping that the next one would get increasingly more difficult but that never happened. An 8 year old could easily solve these. Had the potential too be another great game but the developers obviously didn’t spend their time to create challenge, just more beautiful graphics.
  • Beautiful companion to the first game

All of the reviewers saying this felt “short” either haven’t played the first game, or have gotten used to it and therefore felt like this was less of a challenge. I disagree. After an hour I haven’t finished it yet and I feel like it’s already on par with the first. The puzzles from MV1 were not that difficult to begin with, but I fell in love with the visuals and UI of it all. If you wanted more of that, it’s all here again. I appreciate the new elements the creators added with the 2-characters gameplay as well as the “drawing” aspect. The environments + story here are simply gorgeous and feel a little more whimsical and upbeat than the first. You could do a WHOLE lot worse for $5 for an evening of this, really... and if you feel like you’ve wasted your time, well you must either be cheap or prefer mindless shooter games. Just tellin’ it like it is.

This game is beautiful and very interesting with how the puzzles work. However, the game is extremely short and the difficulty is nonexistent. If you enjoyed the first game for the art, music, and the cool 3D puzzles then you’ll enjoy this one. Do not download this game if you are looking for something to test your brain or to pass an extended period of time. The price is a good bit too high for how little you get. Hoping to see some more levels to be added in the future with more complexity.

I loved Monument Valley 1, but 2 was too short. I don’t think it’s because I played 1 first—which I thought was quite challenging—but it sure did feel easy. I did the whole game in a few hours. I’d give it five stars if it were harder and longer. Of all the levels, only a few were especially challenging. Still, I hope they do another. I’ll buy it.
