"Tunefox is a superior way to learn songs and licks in the privacy of your own home. A clear method of teaching all styles of bluegrass banjo; enough to keep you busy for years." - Steve Martin (Actor/Comedian/Musician) Tunefox is a web and app based learning tool designed to help people learn bluegrass songs and licks for guitar, mandolin, banjo and bass. Each song in Tunefox has 3 versions - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced (or Backup, Scruggs, and Melodic for banjo) - and each of those arrangements has switchable licks. For example, let’s say you get a basic arrangement of a tune under your fingers. With Tunefox you can shuffle the measures of a song to create a new solo based on the original you just learned. We think it’s a fantastic way to approach improvisation. Included are all of the normal practice tools - tempo slider, backing tracks, chords, and looping/measure selection as well as special tools like speed up, hide notes, and memory-train (these special tools are available on the web version). Our goal is to help students become real musicians. We don’t want you to just learn an arrangement of a tune and then only be able to play that arrangement. There’s so much more to a solo and a lot of it has to do with hearing the bluegrass vocabulary and then learning how it fits into a song that you know. ---------------------------------------------------------- "It's a great jumping off point for making up my own licks." - Graham Sharp (Steep Canyon Rangers) "Tunefox is the best digital learning tool for banjo I've ever encountered. The interface is intuitive, and the content is musical and well thought out. Everyone learning bluegrass banjo should get this app." - Wes Corbett (Molly Tuttle Band) Try Tunefox out with a free 7-day trial and then become a member to get access to: - Unlimited access to all instruments, songs and licks - Tunefox on your computer, iPhone or iPad - Revolutionary practice tools - New songs and licks added every month - PDF printing *At the end of your trial you will not automatically be charged for the subscription. • Outstanding value

What a brilliant learning system to enable a 73 year old to play banjo, this app has brought me a new lease on life. Thank you Tunefox for all the help through both group and individual support, I wish you could have been available 50 years ago, I would be on stage now next to Scruggs!

This app. is just what I was looking for. It takes the expense out of getting private lessons and having to go lessons some where. Great tutorials for all levels. I particularly like the video tutorials and play alongs. This app. will save me $200.00 a month in lessons.

I’ve been playing Banjo for many years. I have subscribed to many web sites and purchased countless books and tabs. Tune Fox is hands down the easiest and most comprehensive approach available. Great app. Dr. Kirby McGill
  • It’s Key To How I Learn

    By Srseaman
I’ve been an early user of TuneFox and love the new app and the ease with which I can learn new songs, either solely by ear or with some of the tools (ease of isolating measures, hidden notes, ability to switch in different licks, Scruggs/melodic and backup playing styles). With TuneFox, I’ve stretched myself like never before, and it’s all self-paced. When i’ve got a tune I want to master, as happened this week at a jam session, TuneFox was my first stop. I love being able to isolate one, two three measures until I have them nailed and then move on. In the past, I’ve always started at the beginning of a song and as a result, i don’t get to the back of the song as much. That’s all changed and I am seeing progress I’ve never seen before! I’m now using it for mandolin and plan on using it to learn guitar.
  • Time to pick up the banjo again.

Was learning banjo many years, and life happened. Started again and looked for a teaching app. Wow, there are many out there, some very good, a lot, not so much. Tunefox is one of the more expensive, but well worth the money. Many options in learning how to play and improve your skills.

If you want to learn banjo on your own, working with this app will make it happen. I play banjo and I've learned a ton (especially melodic style). Totally worth it. Test it out on the 7 day trial and buy a month or more. Love it.
