SurgeChaser is a utility for Uber drivers that helps track and chase the surge. Create checkpoints, enable notifications, and receive notifications whenever the surge exceeds the threshold you set (custom to each checkpoint).
I cannot see history on the pin created
This is an awesome app it works well but i am not able to see the history of the surge to use the data to plan my week.
I saw this app on YouTube and it looked awesome. Mainly the ability to check historical surge data, downloaded the app specifically for that purpose. And noda, no history choice on pinpoints! Plus including a graphical display of the surge areas would be helpful. Do that and make it one app for both Lyft and Uber and you have a five star winner!!!
So far this seems like a decent tool for all drivers. It would be nice if there was a help section. There are a few questions I would like answers to.
1. When you place a checkpoint, what is the radius that it covers? Do I need to place a pin for each business I want to watch?
2. Is there a way to go back and look at the surge history for a pin I have placed?
3. Do I need to keep the app open in the background when I am out driving? Will that ensure that I get notifications in a timely matter?
I Like When I see Negative Reviews!!
I hope nobody finds out what this app is capable of.
And it will probably get better too.
The 6 weeks of data is key.
I really would give 5 stars.
I might write more later.
But if everybody learns, it could be costly.
Keep up the good work!
The more drivers who use this, the more accurate this will be.
I have set it all up correctly, and still fail to get notifications when surge is within my requested threshold! Annoying!
Only downloaded to comment on pricing
3 month subscription actually costs more than 1 month at a time. Only by 2 cents, but that's still stupid.
Don't waste your time with this.
For starters, it's a useless app because it doesn't update fast enough. The surge sometimes has already been surging for sometimes a minute or two before the app notifies you of the surge. I've been notified of the surge when it already has gone down. Also, there is a feature called "near me" it's supposed to notify you when there is a surge wherever you are currently located, but this does not work correctly. And lastly, if you report a bug, or send an email to tech-support they don't respond. Too bad, it's a good idea but poorly managed and executed.
GREAT replacement for...
Great replacement for a feature Uber removed from their own app! Remember how they bragged about surge notifications as a feature to help drivers earn more? Then they removed it w/ no notice? ::slow clap:: The free trial period is very generous. Recommended for all "power drivers".
Update on Apr 13th, 2017 review
I was pleased to see an update for the app, hoped that the crashing issue had been fixed. It has not. I can link my Uber account, but as soon as the app asks for location permissions, there is a quick flash and its back to the home screen.
In its current state, it's unusable.
