  • Disappointed

I was disappointed to find that I have to “support” the app by paying to finish books.
  • Absolutely love it

Serial Reader is the perfect app for someone who enjoys reading classic literature but doesn’t necessarily have the time to pick up a book. I love getting a 10-20 minute read delivered to my phone each day with a little notification. The app is free, but for $2.99 you can add cloud sync, highlighting, read ahead, pause and read later, unlock more fonts, and support Michael! That’s right—this app was created by one man who is devoted to bringing great literature right to your hands. 5/5 stars!
  • Great App

Love This app! I love the premise and the layout is very pleasing.
  • I’m actually reading again!

Yup. This app is excellent. And in my opinion, the paid version is totally worth it. For less than the cost of a mass market paperback, I now have access to an entire library of classics. I’ve been using this app to replace my social media habit, and I’ve already read 3 books, that I might never have considered picking up otherwise! There’s also a “tip jar” where you can encourage the developer. Also, shoutout to Michael, because he does a great job of managing the content. I emailed him about a confusing typo, and he fixed it that same day.
  • bite-sized chunks

I love reading. I can read for hours and days at a time; unfortunately as an adult, who works, goes to school and is a single mom, my time for reading is far and few between. This app is an answer to that need...reading the classics in small chunks for a few minutes at a time. Love it!!
  • Perfect if you like to read more than one book at a time!

I am one of those who likes to read multiple books at once, but never knows when to put one down and pick up another. This app gives me just enough pages of a book, then I can read another. Bonus that it connects to Goodreads! LOVE IT.
  • Wonderful app

You’ll be reading more than you thought you could in no time. The $2.99 for highlights and reading ahead is absolutely worth it. Reading Shakespeare is great: you’ll realize, after only a few minutes, that the language starts to seem normal without all the footnotes that are usually there to complicate things unnecessarily.
  • Reading stuff I’ve always meant to read

Really nice app, takes away the work of remembering to read. The app presents the material very nicely and it has a great selection. Good stuff.

I’ve always wanted to find time to read “the classics” and now I can do that. All in pre-set, pre-proportioned snippets of indulgence, this app takes away the gap of intimidation projected by these books. I am so happy to be reading such well written, original, and moving stories. All conveniently located on my phone. I can immerse myself within a matter of seconds, any where- any time. I highly recommend this app!
