  • It's all downhill

I guess when you start with perfection, it's hard to improve. The new phone application does away with the polish and thoughtfulness of the old one for a slow, rushed job. Major gripes: * slow picture adding * lack of original sync options * charging for less features and less polish Why does adding a picture say "Preparing photo, don't worry it won't take long!"? When it in fact take seconds, versus the milliseconds it did in the old application? I'm adding a single picture. Often my workflow is writing a quick entry before I fall asleep. Every second counts here since I'm eager to hit the hay. And why can't I put temperature in Celsius? Was the old code really completely rewritten for no reason? I see a rushed job that severely lacks the polish that made the original Day One a star. I hope they go back to the cleanup stage. Not worth the money, keep on Day One original for now. V2.01: yay, lots of crashes on the first update V2.3: premium yum.. I guess all the money for Day One 2.0 didn't go towards getting t past beta. We're still at constant crashes,'o hashtag, and supeerrr slow E2E now. Please get someone who knows business to handle the business. Not you, Paul.

Absolutely ridiculous. I pay less than they want for Headspace and that’s FOR ACTUAL CONTENT!!! This is a JOURNAL app, there is NO CONTENT!!! Edit: yeah, most apps I have either DONT HAVE ADS IN THE FREE VERSION OR CHARGE A ONE TIME FEE OF $3. Charging $30+ for sync when I’m using my own cloud services is blatant disregard for your customers. My review stands.
  • New version wants to charge $34.99 a year?

When I installed a copy of Day One on my new iPhone, it changed the version of Day One on my iPad. All my entries have disappeared. Now I find I need to pay an annual fee? Isn’t this basically ransom warehouse?
  • Really enjoying it!

Overall, this is a great app! Some options I would still like to see: the ability to use handwriting and drawing / with my Apple Pencil; more font options and different colors.
  • Developers need to focus on the basics

A useful app but startup performance leaves a lot to be desired. More intelligence around shorthand and shortcuts would be welcomed.
  • Bye bye memories

After they moved away from Dropbox I lost my data. So sad my children’s memories from birth to 2 years old are now unable to be imported from old journal stores on Dropbox.

I have been using this as a diary for a couple or three years. loved it. Now all my entires are only available on my iPhone 6+ and my new iPad no longer syncs life my older iPad did. I have to view and enter entries only on my smaller screened phone. This company has terrible support and is only interest in $ and upgrades to premium service, more $. I’m about ready to quit journaling due to the disappointment with this app and it’s extremely poor service. Save yourself the heartbreak. Update: Problems continue: Now neither iPad or iPhone allow me to post pictures to my pages and I just get a white blank page when I try to click on support. Clearly they have no support!

I’ve been using day one since the original and it’s a great app but I would like a drawing / writing option added so that I can literally write in my journal now that I have the Apple Pencil. It would be cool to add little doodles or write out my entries.

This app has made it so much easier to consistently journal, and has given me the ability to capture photos and web links in addition to my written notes. I use this app on my phone and iPad, but got really frustrated that I couldn’t use it on my laptop because I didn’t have a Mac. When I wrote as much to the Day One team, I got a response within hours (on a Sunday night) that pointed me to a Chrome extension and page (beta) that allow me to access and post in my DO journal from my laptop. Totally worth the subscription price.

I have really enjoyed using this tool. I have it on my phone, iPad and my computer. It is so easy to journal anytime, anywhere and have them synch together. The interface and security on the program makes it easy to use and safe. I love adding pictures to my entries each day too. Keep up he good work!
