The mere idea of this app is just genius. This is something that I believe any listener, let alone musician, has wanted since the beginning of the era of digitized music. I’m kind of surprised that there’s nothing like this already out. Why isn’t everyone talking about this? I really wish I could utilize this app’s features and employ them on every single piece of music I’ve ever purchased and listened to digitally. I mean can you imagine that??? Props to Christian for finding a way to monetize the album and develop the concept and practice of Stretch music- by allowing listeners/musicians to control what they’re hearing and transform the sound at will. Simply incredible. It is enhancing my creative process and is really allowing me to understand this record a lot better than I ever could have without it. Thanks for this, seriously.

Great job by Christian by giving us an album/app with extra content, not just the songs. Also the introduction of Elena Pinderhughes is great. She has great lines and musical ideas especially on Sunrise in Beijing. The app will sometimes glitch depending on how many applications you are using on your device. However this isn't a major problem. Christian Scott is leading us to the future with the entire design of an album as an app, following in the footsteps of Bjork.
  • I love the music and the idea

But, whenever I use the app sometimes it cuts in and out and I can't actually enjoy the music :/

It's nice to fool around with tracks and make your own versions of the songs.

We are going to look back at this app and say this was the first of an entire category of play-along apps. What sets this apart is that the end user get to play with the actual musicians on the record, and access all of the charts, mix it to their liking, and even loop sections they like or want to practice. For a student of jazz, this is the new Aebersold. For the music enthusiast, this is the new liner notes. The Stretch Music App is an ingenious product that should have all of us asking ourselves, "Why didn't we think of this until now?"

What an amazing concept! I can listen to the original soundtrack as is, or I can adjust the relative volumes or mute selected tracks to play over them. It's fun just to listen to the songs with different combinations of tracks - it's like I'm hearing a completely different tune!
